No Association Between Donor Variables and Clinically Significant Outcomes, Reoperations, and Failure After Osteochondral Allograft Transplantation

  • This study looked at 372 patients undergoing OCA transplantation with a mean follow up of 5.4 years.
  • No differences in outcomes when considering donor-recipient sex mismatch, donor age or graft storage time (<28 days).

JRF Takeaways: JRF is dedicated to delivering OCAs that meet the unique needs and specifications of each surgeon. Findings from this long-term, single-center study indicate that factors such as donor-recipient sex mismatch and donor age do not significantly impact graft failure. Broadening certain criteria and specifications may ultimately allow for faster and more precise size-matching of OCAs, improving efficiency in the matching process.
