SUMMARY
The Vice President of Clinical Affairs & Strategic Partnerships is a member of the JRF Ortho Executive Leadership Team and is responsible for providing strategic leadership for the organization's research, clinical affairs, innovation, and surgeon engagement initiatives. This position serves as the primary executive liaison to JRF Ortho's key surgeon advisory and research groups, fostering collaboration, building consensus, and aligning clinical priorities with organizational strategy.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Executive Leadership
- Serve as an active member of the Executive Leadership Team and contribute to organizational strategy, planning, and decision-making.
- Collaborate with executive leadership to identify and advance strategic initiatives that support JRF Ortho's mission, growth, and long-term objectives.
- Provide leadership and guidance regarding research, clinical affairs, innovation, and surgeon engagement activities.
- Assist in evaluating strategic opportunities, partnerships, and investments that enhance JRF Ortho's clinical and market position.
- Represent JRF Ortho at industry meetings, conferences, professional societies, and partner organizations.
Clinical and Research Strategy
- Provide strategic oversight of JRF Ortho's research and clinical affairs portfolio.
- Establish priorities for research and clinical initiatives in alignment with organizational goals and available resources.
- Oversee the evaluation and advancement of new technologies, products, and clinical opportunities relevant to JRF Ortho's mission.
- Collaborate with internal teams, physician leaders, and external experts to identify opportunities for innovation and product development.
- Ensure effective coordination and communication among research, clinical, operational, and commercial stakeholders.
- Monitor industry trends, emerging technologies, clinical evidence, and competitive developments within orthopedics, biologics, tissue banking, and regenerative medicine.
Surgeon and Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary executive relationship manager for JRF Ortho's physician advisory, research, and clinical leadership groups, including MOCA and MERCuRE.
- Facilitate productive collaboration among physician stakeholders while balancing competing priorities and perspectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with orthopedic surgeons, key opinion leaders, researchers, industry partners, and professional organizations.
- Lead discussions regarding research priorities, clinical initiatives, and innovation opportunities that support organizational objectives.
- Act as a trusted advisor and liaison between physician stakeholders and JRF Ortho leadership.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and mutual accountability among internal and external stakeholders.
Research and Clinical Portfolio Management
- Oversee the prioritization, governance, and advancement of research and clinical initiatives across the organization.
- Evaluate proposed projects and initiatives based on strategic alignment, clinical relevance, resource requirements, and organizational impact.
- Monitor progress of key research and clinical programs and ensure alignment with established objectives.
- Partner with internal teams and external experts to support the development and dissemination of clinical evidence that advances JRF Ortho products and services.
- Ensure effective stewardship of resources allocated to research and clinical affairs activities.
External Partnerships and Industry Relations
- Develop and maintain strategic relationships with physicians, research institutions, industry organizations, consultants, and commercial partners.
- Support the identification and development of collaborative opportunities that enhance JRF Ortho's clinical, research, and educational initiatives.
- Collaborate with regulatory, quality, operational, and commercial teams to support organizational objectives and product development efforts.
- Promote JRF Ortho's reputation as a trusted leader in orthopedic allograft innovation and clinical excellence.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Bachelor's degree required in Business, Healthcare Administration, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field.
- Master's degree preferred (MBA, MHA, MPH, MS, or equivalent).
- Advanced scientific, clinical, or technical degrees are valued but not required.
Experience
- Minimum 15 years of progressive leadership experience within orthopedics, medical devices, biologics, tissue banking, regenerative medicine, or related healthcare industries.
- Minimum 7-10 years of senior leadership experience with responsibility for strategic initiatives, physician engagement, clinical programs, product development, or business growth.
- Demonstrated success working directly with orthopedic surgeons, physician advisory boards, key opinion leaders, and clinical research collaborators.
- Proven experience managing complex stakeholder relationships and building consensus among diverse groups with competing priorities.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing organizational decisions across multiple functions.
- Strong understanding of orthopedic procedures, surgeon practice environments, and emerging technologies impacting musculoskeletal care.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulatory, quality, and compliance environments relevant to tissue banking, biologics, or orthopedic technologies preferred.

- $250k-$300k annual salary
