Defining Failure After Cartilage Preservation Surgery: Are We Expecting Too Much

Purpose: To look into what failure actually means and work towards developing tools to better understand what level of recovery is most important to the individual.

Conclusion: Failure has traditionally been defined in absolute terms but it does not take into account the patients’ expectations nor the fact it can delay arthroscopy.
