Single Strand Tendon (Aseptic)

Surgical reconstruction of smaller joints can be achieved utilizing single strand tendons. Stabilization of the ankle, and reconstruction of the MPFL, ALL or AC joint are commonly performed using the strong, yet small diameter single strand tendon.

Allograft Highlights

  • Allows for various techniques
  • Surgeons can predetermine diameter size of tunnels and graft length
  • Eliminates additional pain and surgical scars from autograft harvesting
  • Simplifies procedure versus autograft, potentially saving OR time and cost

An advanced MPFL reconstruction variant that employs 3.5 mm BioComposite SwiveLock® anchors on the patella and an ACL-style adjustable-loop TightRope® device for the femoral attachment to allow intraoperative retensioning and optimal isometry throughout knee motion.

A double-bundle MPFL reconstruction technique using parallel drill guides and SwiveLock® anchors for patellar fixation combined with femoral fixation using a TightRope® implant, enabling precise graft positioning and adjustable tension to restore patellar stability.
