Cartilage defects of the patella can be particularly challenging. The patella bone allograft is used for resurfacing these cartilage defects with mature hyaline cartilage and bone. The patella can be matched with a Femoral Trochlea for bi-polar joint repairs.

Raffy Mirzayan, MD, (Los Angeles, CA) performs a complete resurfacing of the patella with a osteochondral allograft. Dr. Mirzayan includes multiple technical pearls for donor and recipient side preparations.
